Despite this vast geographical distance, local and expatriate residents of the city had the opportunity to experience African culture at a cultural exchange event hosted by the Longhua International Cooperation Center (LICC) yesterday. The event featured a bilingual session on African culture, where speakers from Zimbabwe and South Africa introduced attendees to the continent’s basics, including the history, languages, and diverse customs of major African countries such as Nigeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and others. Attendees also had the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiences, including learning to play traditional African drums and crafting beaded bracelets made from naturally colored stones. This event was part of LICC’s series of themed cultural events. The center has also hosted cross-cultural experiences showcasing Portuguese Azulejo art, British culture, Italian fashion, and more. |
