THE Shenzhen Blood Center has named Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi, renowned Olympic champions and members of the Chinese synchronized swimming team, as Shenzhen’s blood donation ambassadors.

An appointment ceremony was held at the center Monday.

During the ceremony, the twin sisters engaged in an in-depth discussion about the relationship between blood donation, health, and exercise.

They expressed their strong support for blood donation, saying, “Blood donation is a noble public welfare undertaking. Our winning performance at the team event of the Paris Olympics was themed ‘Light of Life,’ and we believe that blood donation can also light up the light of life for others.”

The twin sisters also hoped to use their influence to encourage more people to understand and support blood donation.

After the ceremony, the two ambassadors visited the blood donation hall and greeted blood donors, also posing for photos with them.

The Wang twins made history in the Paris Olympic Games this August by winning China’s first-ever Olympic duet title in artistic swimming. This victory was their second Olympic gold medal, following their win in the team event.
