Structural model and improvement path of teaching and nurturing abilities of ideological and political course teachers in universities

IN the new era, teachers of ideological and political education in universities have the core task of “cultivating more members of the new generation who can reassure the Party, devote themselves to patriotism, and shoulder the heavy responsibility of national rejuvenation.”

In order to better accomplish this task, it is necessary to build a comprehensive and systematic structural model for teaching and cultivating skills, and explore effective ways to improve it.

Political orientation is the soul of teachers of ideological and political education. Teachers should cultivate students’ firm “four consciousnesses” through teaching, and ensure that students are united with the Party and the country.

At the same time, they should inspire students’ “four trusts” and cultivate them into loyal patriots. Teachers should set a good example, faithfully practise the “two safeguards,” and set a good example for students.

At the same time, teachers must guide students to maintain a high degree of unity with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core in terms of political attitude, direction, principles and path.

Moral appeal is the charm of a teacher’s personality. Teachers should strictly follow the standards of professional ethics, use their noble character to influence students and help them cultivate good moral qualities. Teachers must also deeply understand the spirit of education and encourage students to be positive and upwardly mobile. As a teacher, one should use one’s own behavior as a role model to cultivate students into moral, conscientious and responsible individuals.

Teaching innovation is the key to improving the quality of teaching. Teachers must have a deep and accurate understanding of the core ideas of the textbook to ensure that they impart the right values and knowledge to students. Teachers need to improve their ability to transform teaching systems so that complex theoretical knowledge can be translated into content that students can easily understand. Teachers must continuously improve their ability to reform and innovate teaching, conduct in-depth research on teaching methods, and actively try out new teaching methods.

The ability to learn theory is a basic professional skill for teachers. Teachers must continuously study the classic works of Marxism, deepen their belief in Marxism and use it to influence and motivate students. Teachers must improve their theoretical knowledge and have a solid theoretical foundation to support their teaching.

At the same time, teachers should also lead by example and become role models for students to learn Marxism.

The ability to conduct academic research is an important goal of the teachers’ academic path. In order to conduct in-depth academic research and improve the quality of teaching, teachers should deepen research on Marxist theory, solve important and challenging teaching problems, and explore important issues related to China’s path of modernization. At the same time, teachers must strive to improve the quality of Marxist research results and expand academic influence.

Digital competence is a requirement of the times for teachers. Teachers need to actively enhance their ability to cultivate future talents, and ensure that the content of teaching keeps pace with the times. At the same time, teachers should promote the digital transformation of ideological and political education teaching to achieve intelligent and precise development of education. In addition, accelerating the improvement of personal digital literacy can lay the foundation for the digital transformation of teaching methods, thereby enhancing classroom interaction and attracting students’ active participation.

To this end, teachers must update their teaching and education concepts, continuously strengthen their own learning, actively participate in various training activities and practical exercises, and constantly use new digital intelligence technologies to improve their teaching and education skills in all aspects.
