Fashion brand HUI shines at Milan Fashion Week

SHENZHEN fashion brand HUI captivated audiences at Milan Fashion Week with its “Grand Tour” Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Held on Sunday in Milan, the show embodied designer Zhao Huizhou’s signature theme of “Women’s Power.”

Zhao’s vision celebrates the courage and determination of women to explore the world. This sentiment was woven into the very fabric of the collection, inspired by the “Blue Flowers Narrating” project initiated by Wang Xiaomei.

A native of Wenggong Village in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province, Wang is the curator of the Memory on Hands private museum, which is dedicated to the innovation and inheritance of traditional batik, printing, and dyeing techniques from Guizhou.

The “Grand Tour” collection was dominated by blue hues, symbolizing the mystique and wisdom of women. Luxurious fabrics like silk and chiffon were used to craft a perfect blend of comfort and elegance, emphasizing feminine grace.

Elements of traditional Chinese culture were subtly incorporated in the designs, including empowering sea and mountain patterns, delicate butterflies and peonies, and exquisite batik motifs of the Miao ethnic group, who are predominantly from Guizhou.

The runway itself became a canvas for Zhao’s vision. Collaborating with architect Wu Wenbo, they created a symbolically rich space. Dark, metallic vertical strips were installed on the ceiling, forming a dynamic 3D wave. Above, blue fabric was draped gently, creating a striking contrast with the warm tones of the architecture. Light filtered through the translucent material, producing a mesmerizing play of light and shadow — a dreamlike complement to the collection’s empowering message.
