IN a fusion of tradition and innovation, the Shenzhen Art Museum is hosting “Recreating Spiritual Realm — Contemporary Art Exhibition,” running from Sept. 27 to Nov. 24. This exhibition invites visitors to explore how contemporary artists use multimedia, virtual reality, and interactive design to connect and activate traditional aesthetics, creating a dialogue between the past and the present. Inspired by Chinese scientist Qian Xuesen’s poetic translation of “virtual reality” as “spiritual realm,” the exhibit reflects on how technology can carry emotional depth and cultural meaning. Curators You Jiang and Zhu Xiaojun have gathered six visionary artists — Chen Baoyang, Deng Yuejun, Gao Shiqiang, Li Shun, Wang Zhigang, and Zheng Da — who weave digital technology with Chinese aesthetics. Their works transform traditional philosophies into immersive experiences that resonate in today’s digital world. Visitors are invited to explore Halls 6 and 7 on the second floor of the museum’s new venue in Longhua District. (SD News) |
