
A TOTAL of 937 undergraduate students and 224 master's students registered for the new semester at SMBU. For the first time, SMBU enrolled art students and those from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan this semester. The university added five dual-degree undergraduate majors, including Information and Computational Science, Basic Mathematical Sciences, Management Science, Painting, and Dance Education, therefore expanding the total undergraduate majors to 16. The number of admitted students has surged, with 867 from the Chinese mainland and 70 from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Approximately 170 international undergraduate students were enrolled, predominantly from countries like Russia and Kazakhstan. The new students, with better academic performance records than previous recruits, hail from 549 high schools in 175 cities. This year, 224 students were enrolled in master's degree programs, with 168 from the Chinese mainland, and the rest from overseas. Four additional majors have been introduced into the existing master's programs: Radiological Chemistry, Strategic Development and Regional Management, Contemporary Development of the Eurasian Continent, and National and Corporate Human Resources Development Management. Presently, the university offers 15 joint master’s programs in collaboration with Lomonosov Moscow State University. |
