Metro line test run

PHASE II of Metro Line 12 began a 20-day test run Nov. 5, marking the final step before the line becomes fully operational by the end of the year.

Phase II starts at Waterland Resort East Station and ends at Songgang Station, where riders can transfer to Line 6 or Line 11. It covers 8.05 kilometers and includes six stations.

Cross-border travel

CROSS-BORDER trips via Shenzhen checkpoints had exceeded 200 million by Wednesday, a 53% year-on-year increase, the city’s exit and entry inspection authorities said.

A total of 65 million trips were made by residents from the Chinese mainland and over 131 million were made by residents of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The Luohu, Futian, and Shenzhen Bay checkpoints recorded the largest number of trips. To date, Shenzhen has recorded more than 2.21 million inbound trips by international travelers this year, more than double the same period last year.

Intercity trains

Shenzhen Railway Station in Luohu District began running 167 intercity trains to and from Guangzhou on Wednesday, an increase of 13 trains from the previous schedule.

Among these, 122 trains connect with Guangzhou East Station, while 45 serve Guangzhou Baiyun Station.

The updated schedule introduces 16 daily direct train services between Shenzhen Railway Station and Guangzhou East Station, which is four more than previously.

The duration of these direct services is approximately 1 hour, and the train numbers are prefixed with “C80.”
