Thrilling finale at the 3rd X9 rowing league
    2024-11-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Third Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities and Institutes Rowing League Around X-Lake Sciensity  (Autumn Edition) wrapped up Nov. 15 at Nanshan University Town in Nanshan District, with an exciting conclusion along the Dasha River.

The competition featured multiple categories, including men’s eight with coxswain (M8+), mixed eight with coxswain (MIX8+), and expert group eight with coxswain (M8+/MIX8+).

Despite light rain, competitors were undeterred, battling it out on the 800-meter course in the morning, with a thrilling 300-meter sprint race in the afternoon.

Teams from nine local universities, including Shenzhen University, Southern University of Science and Technology, and Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), participated, alongside renowned institutions like Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Peking University.

The competition also welcomed Yale University and Amsterdam University, while local high schools like Shenzhen Middle School and Shenzhen Foreign Languages School added further excitement.

After several intense rounds of competition, Tsinghua SIGS claimed first place on the points table of the 3rd X9 Rowing League (Autumn Edition) at X-Lake Sciensity. Shenzhen Polytechnic and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) tied for second place.

The X9 League, established in 2022, fosters collaboration between top universities in Shenzhen through sports and academic exchanges.
