THE sixth Shenzhen Book Fair, held from Nov. 15 to 18, showcased over 600 domestic and international publishers, presenting a collection of approximately 400,000 books, including over 3,000 foreign-language titles from prestigious publishers like Penguin Random House, DK, and Bloomsbury. The main venue was situated at Shenzhen Book City’s CBD store in Futian District, with subvenues spanning across various Book City locations in Luohu, Nanshan, Bao’an, Longgang, Longhua, as well as at Wanda Plaza in Guangming District. With eight themed exhibition areas, the fair was a multifaceted experience that harmonized traditional and contemporary aspects of reading. In addition to the plethora of books available, the fair also offered interactive technology experiences and creative workshops. A tech zone showcased smart devices, tech IP derivative displays, and engaging STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities for youth. A notable attraction was iFlytek’s “AI Technology Experience Exhibit,” featuring modules like “Dream Space,” “Calligraphy Robot,” and “Conversations With the Future.” Let’s delve deeper into the vibrant scenes of the book fair captured through the lens of Shenzhen Daily photographer Liu Xudong.
