Runners set off on the Shenzhen Marathon 2024 from the Civic Center in Futian District at 7:30 a.m. yesterday. The 42.195-kilometer race, spanning Futian, Nanshan, and Bao’an districts and Qianhai, drew 20,000 participants. Kenya’s Sammy Kirop Kitwara won the men’s race with a time of 2 hours, 9 minutes, and 13 seconds, while Tanzania’s Magdalena Crispin Shauri won the women’s race in 2 hours, 29 minutes, and 30 seconds.
