Cao Zhen caozhen0806@126.com A TOTAL of 120 paintings created by local primary school students are on display at the “Learning Painting From Masters” exhibition at the Century Place shopping mall in Huaqiangbei, Futian District. Co-organized by the Guan Shanyue Art Museum and Century Place, this exhibition showcases the artistic talent of students from various schools such as Huanggang Primary School, Nanyuan Primary School, and Fuyuan Primary School. Since its inception in 2017, the “Learning Painting From Masters” event has invited students to paint after studying and drawing inspiration from masterpieces displayed at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum, garnering wide acclaim from the public. Visitors will be captivated by the students' talent, whether it be a detailed painting with vibrant colors or a simple yet powerful piece created with just a few strokes. Each piece reflects the children’s boundless imagination. Additionally, the exhibition includes handcrafted works made by students and their families and four paintings by the renowned Chinese master Guan Shanyue (1912-2000). Furthermore, workshops will be conducted during the exhibition, providing participants with an opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences. Chen Junyu, director of the Guan Shanyue Art Museum, emphasized the significance of the museum’s collaboration with schools in advancing fine arts education. He noted that the event not only promotes fine arts knowledge and exhibits students artistic talents but also provides inspiration and enjoyment for the young participants. Looking ahead, the museum plans to collaborate with more schools in Shenzhen to offer additional art events and courses.
