Editor’s note: Shenzhen is composed of nine administrative districts, one new area, and the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone in Shanwei. While all 11 areas share Shenzhen’s defining spirit of innovation, each has its own unique characteristics. This page showcases the latest developments in Longhua, a dynamic and rapidly developing district in northern Shenzhen. With a focus on emerging sectors like the digital economy and advanced manufacturing, Longhua is recognized as a hub of innovation and high-quality development. FOR the first time, Longhua District was recognized for its achievements in business and investment promotion at the annual Shenzhen Global Investment Promotion Conference, which was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District on Dec. 6. During the conference, the district reached agreements on 40 projects to foster further cooperation and signed contracts with five enterprises, including iFLYTEK and Chubb Limited. Hexagon AB, a multinational technology enterprise from Sweden, and Meituan Drones were among the top 10 companies that relocated to Shenzhen between 2023 and 2024. Also during the conference, Longhua District Party chief Wang Wei introduced the development of key areas and industries in Longhua, highlighting the district’s achievements in investment and business promotion. He also outlined the district’s business promotion vision for 2025. The conference attracted over 700 companies and institutions, including more than 200 Fortune Global 500 companies and multinational corporations from 33 countries and regions across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Throughout the year, a total of 140 projects were introduced to Longhua with a combined registered capital exceeding 10 billion yuan (US$13.76 billion). The district welcomed five Fortune Global 500 companies, two China 500 companies, nine listed enterprises, five foreign-funded enterprises, and more than 60 industry-leading companies. In another development, a delegation from the Longhua District Government participated in a sideline promotion conference focused on healthcare and medical devices on Dec. 6, where they signed agreements with the Chinese Medical Equipment Association (CMEA) and Shanghai MetaVision Co. Ltd. Additionally, the district government, in collaboration with the Shenzhen Municipal Service Bureau for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, hosted an exchange conference for unicorn enterprises.(Wang Haolan) |
