Chunlian: Calligraphic poetry for Spring Festival
    2025-01-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A calligrapher from the Shenzhen Calligraphers Association writes Spring Festival couplets for residents in Futian District yesterday. Spring Festival couplets, or chunlian, are traditional poetic verses written on red paper strips and displayed on front doors of homes during the Chinese New Year. They symbolize family unity, positive aspirations, and prosperity. These couplets, written in calligraphy, are an essential part of Spring Festival’s decorations and are believed to bring blessings and good fortune to the household.Liu Xudong
