Shenzhen’s green walking routes
    2025-01-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Joshua Fernandez

While many cities worldwide are witnessing a decline in walkable spaces, Shenzhen sets itself apart. The city’s commitment to urban planning prioritizes pedestrian safety and well-being in remarkable ways.

An outstanding illustration of this dedication is the elevated greenway near Yitian Metro Station in Futian District.

This picturesque greenway meanders above the river, south of Futian’s bustling CBD, offering stunning views of the majestic Ping An International Finance Center in the distance. The photos shown here were taken during a walk along the greenway on a recent weekend.

Green pedestrian paths play a crucial role in providing a safe environment for walking, cycling, and commuting without the need to navigate through congested thoroughfares.

These pathways also contribute to environmental conservation by preserving local ecosystems and wildlife habitats.

Shenzhen boasts a network of tree-lined paths awaiting exploration, offering a serene escape within the bustling cityscape. Go check them out for yourself!
