A RARE opportunity to indulge yourself in the singing of West End musical stars, “The Reunion” is a concert not to be missed by musical fans. Directed by musical actors Ramin Karimloo and Earl Carpenter, “The Reunion” brings together six celebrated West End performers who have starred in productions such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Misérables,” and “Six.” In collaboration with a band whose members all come from West End theater crews, they will feast the audience’s ears with some of the most classic melodies from West End musicals. The concert’s inaugural edition, which visited Beijing and Shanghai last year, saw all tickets for its 11 performances sold out and has an overall rating of 9.5 on Douban. Its new edition, scheduled to tour Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing in February, will feature the same lineup and an adjusted program. Some of the keywords for the new program include “Post Malone,” “Stephen Sondheim,” “Sunset Boulevard,” “Frozen,” and “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.” The concert features Ramin Karimloo, who is best known for starring as the Phantom in “The Phantom of the Opera” and its sequel “Love Never Dies,” and as Jean Valjean in the 2014 Broadway revival of “Les Misérables.” It also includes Hadley Fraser, who played Raoul in the 25th anniversary staging of “The Phantom of the Opera” at the Royal Albert Hall and Grantaire at the 25th anniversary concert of “Les Misérables” at the O2 Arena; Earl Carpenter, who is known for starring as Inspector Javert in “Les Misérables” and the Phantom in the West End, Broadway and touring versions of “The Phantom of the Opera”; Holly-Anne Hull, best known for playing Christine in “The Phantom of the Opera”; Natalie May Paris, best known for originating the role of Jane Seymour in “Six”; and Samantha Barks, who has been starring as Elsa in the West End musical “Frozen” since 2021.
