The team’s lively and unique Yingge dance captivated the public as a celebration for the Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival. This folk dance, popular in Guangdong and listed as national intangible cultural heritage in 2006, is a fusion of drama, dance, and martial arts. The team is on an eight-day tour of Germany and France as part of the “Happy Chinese New Year” event. The Spring Festival was added to UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2024 and recognized as an official U.N. holiday by the 78th U.N. General Assembly in 2023.Xinhua |
