



Portrait paintings A collection of ancient Chinese portrait paintings from the National Museum of China is being exhibited at Shenzhen Museum’s History and Folk Culture Division. The exhibition features 131 portrait paintings created during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, featuring figures from imperial families, notable officials, and literati. These paintings not only carry the stories of those historical figures but also convey information about politics, etiquette, art, folk customs, and clothing, enriching visitors’ understanding of the social and cultural landscapes of their eras. It unveils Li’s artistic journey in contemporary sculpture, immersing spectators in a multi-faceted, multi-tiered artistic realm. “The Path of Integration — The Migration and Development History of the Xianbei Ethnic Group” unfolds the cultural evolution of the Xianbei people. It chronicles the historical trajectory of the Xianbei society from the mountains and forests to the grasslands, ultimately arriving at the central plains. The festival features 209 light and shadow works and installations across 76 sets that were crafted by artists from around the globe. With the theme of “Infinite Illumination,” the show sets up its main venue at the UpperHills shopping mall and its adjacent parks — Bijia Hill Park and Lianhua Hill Park — in Futian District, along with 29 additional sites in districts including Luohu, Yantian, Nanshan, Bao’an, Longhua, Pingshan, and Guangming. Throughout the festival, 46 themed art events, including concerts and entertaining game carnivals, will be organized. SZ Bay public art season A collection of 14 large outdoor art pieces is on display at the “Vitality of Nature” 2024 Shenzhen Bay Public Art Season that raised its curtain to the public at the Shenzhen Talent Park in December. The event features exhibitions at the park and in the Yuehai campus of Shenzhen University. The 2024 Shenzhen Bay Public Art Season runs until March. (SD News) |
