THE Kun Peng · Spring/Autumn Gathering, a pioneering initiative in Shenzhen to establish a regular liaison mechanism with foreign chambers of commerce in China, was officially launched by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shenzhen Municipal Committee (CCPIT Shenzhen) on Friday.

The initiative was launched at the 2025 Kun Peng · Spring Gathering — Economic and Trade Seminar for Foreign Institutions in China with Shenzhen @Tencent Inno-Tech Event, which was held at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning on Friday afternoon.

The CCPIT Shenzhen initiated an effort to establish a regular liaison mechanism with foreign embassies, consulates, and business associations in China at an exchange meeting in September 2024.

It was proposed to continuously strengthen economic and trade exchanges between Shenzhen and countries around the world through the appointment of dedicated liaison officers, regular meetings, coordination and promotion of important economic and trade activities, exchange of economic and trade information, holding annual appreciation and trade exchange meetings, advisory and political meetings, economic and trade negotiation meetings, foreign enterprise visits to Shenzhen, and overseas trips by Shenzhen enterprises.

Meanwhile, it was also encouraged to support the establishment of a regular cooperation mechanism between the Shenzhen International Chamber of Commerce and foreign business associations so as to further promote two-way trade and investment.

Under this cooperation mechanism, in the first and second half of each year, the CCPIT Shenzhen will hold an economic and trade exchange meeting in spring and an advisory meeting in autumn for foreign embassies and consulates in China, foreign business associations, and foreign-funded enterprises in Shenzhen, collectively named the Kun Peng · Spring/Autumn Gathering initiative.

The 2025 Kun Peng · Spring Gathering was the first event held under the regularized liaison mechanism, aimed at informing foreign economic and trade institutions in China of the basic situation of Shenzhen’s foreign economic and trade work in 2024 and the key work in 2025, as well as expressing gratitude to foreign institutions in China for their support for Shenzhen.
