SPANISH director Lorea Lyons told Shenzhen Daily that she was most impressed by the Red Bridge during a tour of Guangming District on Friday.

“For me, the Red Bridge is the best one. It was beautiful, the site and the surroundings. I would love to go there again and walk along the entire 4-kilometer bridge,” she said.

The directors’ Friday journey commenced at the Guangming District Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. This exhibition hall serves as a gateway to understanding the historical culture and future urban planning of Guangming District, providing a comprehensive overview of the district’s essence.

Equipped with innovative digital displays, the exhibition hall offers a multi-faceted experience combining urban showcases, educational insights, and interactive engagements, creating a seamless journey through time and space. Visitors are provided with a rich narrative of Guangming District’s history, cultural evolution, urban growth, and forward-looking aspirations, offering a holistic view of the district’s past and future.

Lyons said the hall gave her a clear picture of the district. “For me, it is like a teacher because in Spain, in general, the technology isn’t that developed. The hall gave us a map of what is going to be here.”

The directors were then introduced to the remarkable 4-kilometer-long red canopy walkway at Hongqiao Park. Resembling a red ribbon against the natural backdrop, it is a harmonious blend of nature and urban progress. Enthralled by its charm, the directors captured moments along the Red Bridge with their lenses.

They also visited Jingkou Ancient Village, immersing themselves in the region’s laid-back lifestyle. At the heart of this ancient village stands the Huang Family Ancestral Hall, one of the oldest ancestral halls in the area. The directors watched the traditional Jingkou Qilin Dance, a cultural performance with roots dating back over 150 years to the Qing Dynasty.

“I know very little about Chinese culture, but I am fascinated by history and would love to visit more places like the ancient village,” Lyons said.
