Celebrate Women’s Day with romantic melodies
    2025-03-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THIS Friday, the Bay Opera of Shenzhen will resonate with enchanting tunes as the Beijing Tianli Philharmonic Orchestra presents a special “Romantic Melodies” concert in honor of International Women’s Day.

Soprano He Dan will grace the stage with performances of some classic songs.

The concert will kick off with the “Pirates of the Caribbean Theme,” whisking the audience away into a world of adventure and freedom.

The passionate tango piece “A Step Away” will ignite the atmosphere with its vibrant energy, while “The Time That Never Returns” will evoke nostalgia with its gentle and flowing melody.

Audiences will also be enchanted by “The Promise of the World,” the theme song from Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpiece “Howl’s Moving Castle.” The ethereal melody of the theme from “Twilight” will further transport attendees into a romantic and fantastical vampire realm.

The first half of the concert will conclude with “The Blue Danube,” a lively waltz celebrating the onset of spring with its vivacious spirit.

Moving into the second half, the concert will continue to feature several classical waltzes, including the famous “Waltz of the Flowers” and the lively “Can-Can,” inviting the audience to dance and revel in the joy and passion that music brings.

In addition to delightful waltzes, the program will feature iconic pieces that celebrate female empowerment, including the theme from “Titanic,” “My Heart Will Go On,” the overture from the opera “Carmen” and the theme from “Legends of the Fall.”

Concluding the celebration, a climactic rendition of “Nessun Dorma” from Puccini’s “Turandot” will highlight women’s relentless pursuit of love, with its soaring and passionate notes.
