As the gentle spring sunlight casts its soft glow, Guangming’s mountains, waters, fields, and forests adorn themselves with a fresh coat of green. Whether walking through pastoral flower seas or trekking to uncover the untamed beauty of the mountains and forests, enthusiasts can fulfill all their springtime adventures in Guangming. Red Bridge route, Hongqiao Park Among these routes is the vibrant Red Bridge route at Hongqiao Park, spanning 2.48 kilometers. The Red Bridge stands as a prominent landmark in Guangming, crossing over the Bihu Lake with its striking red color that captivates visitors. Known for its picturesque views and tranquil ambiance, the Red Bridge has become a symbol of Guangming District, alluring photographers, tourists, and locals alike. Foreign residents and visitors have been deeply impressed by the iconic Red Bridge. Spanish director Lorea Lyons told Shenzhen Daily that she was most impressed by the Red Bridge during an exploration tour of Guangming on Feb. 21. “For me, the Red Bridge is the best one; it was beautiful, the site and the surroundings. I would love to go there again and walk along the entire bridge,” she said after a tour of four sites in Guangming that included Hongqiao Park, Guangming District Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Jingkou Ancient Village, and Science Museum, during a Shenzhen tour, as part of the schedule for the district’s recent international short film festival. Quinn Dobbins, a U.S. teacher working in Guangming, shared his enthusiasm for the facility with Shenzhen Daily during a recent international exchange event organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangming District. “I saw it online before, it was in my imagination before I came here and it drove me to come here,” he said, noting that he likes to walk on the bridge while breathing the mountain air. Transportation: Visitors can access the park by taking Metro Line 6 to Guangming Street Station or Fenghuang Town Station, followed by a bus ride. Bus routes M532, M525, M462 and B939 provide convenient access to the Hongqiao Park North Plaza Station. Guangming Cycling Demonstration Section route Length: 18.8 kilometers This route connects Guangming Science City Exhibition Center with Sun Yat-sen University Shenzhen Campus, passing through OCT Farm and Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology. It offers a scenic blend of scientific research innovation and rural landscapes. The OCT Farm section features a spectacular sea of blooming rapeseed flowers, creating a picturesque natural spectacle. Cycling route: Guangming Science City Exhibition Center — OCT Farm — Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology — Sun Yat-sen University Shenzhen Campus Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours Tip: Cycling is only allowed on weekdays at OCT Farm with rest stops available along the path. Dadingling Greenway cycling route Length: 6.4 kilometers Known as the “most beautiful marathon mountain-lake greenway in Shenzhen,” the Dadingling Greenway features iconic bridges such as the Floating Bridge, Exploring Bridge, and Suspension Bridge. It offers panoramic views of Guangming Lake, Guangming Science City, and the central business district, seamlessly blending nature with urban landscapes. Cycling route: Dadingling Greenway Sightseeing Route Entrance/Exit — Sliding Grassfield Entrance/Exit Duration: Approximately 0.5 hours Tip: Suitable for experienced riders and open on weekdays Maozhou River cycling route Length: Guangming section 6.8 kilometers Enjoy a riverside ride with picturesque views and a touch of humanistic ambiance at the Left Bank Science Park. Admire the purple flowers and Bauhinia trees along the riverbank in March. Cycling route: Daweisha Food Street — Left Bank Science Park — Nanguang Green Space — Nanguang Park Duration: Approximately 0.5 hours Tip: Open all day for leisure rides Dayan Mountain Forest Park route Length: 2.8 kilometers Explore Guangming’s first ecological park with mountain greenways and climbing trails. Enjoy panoramic views from the summit and experience the vibrant forest decorations. Guangming Xincheng Park Greenway route Length: Guangming section 3 kilometers This shaded greenway offers leisure pavilions, healthy trails, and blooming azaleas.
