Fenghuang Mountain Bufu Ancient Trail This trail connects Fenghuang Tower, Fenghuang Ancient Village, Fenghuang Talent Forest Park, and Fenghuang Mountain Forest Park, spanning approximately 11.1 kilometers. Along this trail, one can immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Bao’an District. Fenghuang Ancient Village, with a history of over 700 years, is the ancestral home of the descendants of Wen Tianxiang, a scholar and national hero in the last years of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), and the Wen clan. It is also one of the largest and best-preserved Cantonese residential architecture in Shenzhen, boasting many ancient buildings. Fenghuang Tower, also known as Wenchang Tower, was initially constructed during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), serving as a landmark of Fenghuang Ancient Village. Fenghuang Talent Forest Park features lush grasslands shaded by verdant trees and a clear, tranquil lake, offering a serene environment for leisurely strolls and moments of peace. The endpoint of the Fenghuang Mountain Bufu Ancient Trail is Fenghuang Mountain Forest Park, where nature’s beauty continues to unfold. Route: Fenghuang Tower — Fenghuang Ancient Village — Fenghuang Talent Forest Park — Fenghuang Mountain Forest Park Second section of Kunpeng Trail The second section of the Kunpeng Trail starts at the intersection of Zhoushi and Caihui roads and ends at the Baoshi Road intersection, stretching nearly 12 kilometers. The route features gentle trails suitable for all ages, from the young to the elderly. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching, get close to the water, admire the reservoir scenery, and overlook the urban landscape. A highlight of this section is the popular internet-famous spot, Jiuwei Wetland Park, where clear lake waters ripple under the azure sky, and fiery red bald cypresses reflect on the surface, creating a shimmering, colorful scene reminiscent of an oil painting. The Kunpeng Trail has been recognized as one of China’s top 10 hiking destinations for 2024. Tiezaishan Sunset Trail The Tiezaishan Sunset Trail, located within Tiezaishan Park, spans a total of 9.1 kilometers and winds through the park’s key scenic areas. It takes only about 20 minutes to reach the summit, where one can witness breathtaking sea sunsets and the unique spectacle of airplanes piercing through clouds and the sun. Visitors can gaze into the distance at the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link while enjoying the stunning seascape. Route: West Entrance of Tiezaishan Park — Qibishenghui Scenic Area — Butterfly Valley — Sea View Platform — Green and Secluded Valley Scenic Area — Ancient Tombs of Tiezaishan Ring Greenway of Shiyan Lake The Ring Greenway of Shiyan Lake is rated among the “top ten” fitness tracks in Shenzhen. Along the way, there are four theme parks from east to west, including Shiyan Lake Wetland Park, Fuyang Zhijian, Moshanghua Park, and Qingcaopai Park. As the longest greenway in Shenzhen, the 26.8-kilometer trail is perfect for walking, running, and cycling. It boasts a rich natural atmosphere, attracting visitors from all over the city. The Shiyan Lake Wetland Park Nature Education Center is the largest inland wetland nature education center in the city. Moshanghua Park, famous for its autumn-exclusive pink muhly grass, showcases unique charm in every season.
