City in bloom
    2025-04-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Joshua Fernandez

As Shenzhen welcomes warmer days, the city is bursting into color with dazzling floral displays at every turn. From vibrant flower festivals and creative roadside installations to blossoming home gardens, residents are making the most of the pleasant weather and extended daylight.

Over the years, I’ve discovered that Shenzhen’s floral charm extends far beyond its parks.

The city has woven flowers into its urban fabric, using them to brighten streets, plazas, and even unexpected corners.

This love for blooms has blossomed into a distinct floral culture, celebrated through local festivals and exhibitions.

For photographers, flowers are a timeless muse — effortlessly expressive and endlessly captivating. My favorite shots? Striking floral arrangements framed by Shenzhen’s iconic architecture. Through my lens, I try to capture the beautiful harmony between nature and city life, a quiet magic found on so many of Shenzhen’s streets.
