A staffer tunes a robot at Shenzhen-based robotics company KiloX’s booth at the Canton Fair Exhibition Hall in Guangzhou on Sunday, two days ahead of the opening of the 137th edition of the China Import and Export Fair. Also known as the Canton Fair, the event is scheduled to take place from today to May 5 in Guangzhou, with around 31,000 participating firms. For the first time, a special zone for service robots has been added to the fair, focusing on the latest achievements in China’s AI development. A total of 1,448 companies from Shenzhen will participate in the fair, with 3,304 booths in total. Among them, eight companies will set up 32 booths in the service robot section, accounting for 50% of the Guangdong Province-based robot companies participating in the fair. Established in 1957, the Canton Fair is held twice a year in Guangzhou and has been hailed as a barometer of China’s foreign trade.China News Service
