A quadruped robot dog captures the attention of visitors at the 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), which opened in Guangzhou yesterday. The fair saw the number of export exhibitors exceed 30,000, setting a new record for this renowned event. Scheduled to run through May 5, the fair is divided into three phases: the first will focus on advanced manufacturing, the second on high-quality home furnishings, and the third on products that enhance quality of life. Despite the weak momentum of global economic growth, intensified trade protectionism, and geopolitical tensions, China’s foreign trade has maintained stable growth. According to the General Administration of Customs, China’s total goods imports and exports in yuan-denominated terms increased by 1.3% year on year in the first quarter of 2025. During this period, China’s exports rose by 6.9% to 6.13 trillion yuan (US$850.1 billion), while imports fell by 6% to 4.17 trillion yuan. China News Service |
