LEADING Silicon Valley incubator Plug and Play recently launched its Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) International Innovation Center in Shenzhen. Located in Luohu District, the center will facilitate the implementation and transformation of global cutting-edge projects within the GBA and serve as an international innovation exchange platform. During a launch ceremony of the center earlier this week, Saeed Amidi, founder and CEO of the company, said the firm plans to open 10 new innovation centers worldwide. “For many international companies, if they want to manufacture their products, Shenzhen is the right place. That’s why we are here,” said Amidi. He added that Shenzhen’s achievements are incredible and that his company is looking forward to further cooperation on boosting innovation. “Shenzhen is not only our top choice but also a must in the GBA,” Xu Jieping, CEO of Plug and Play China, said. He stated that the company hopes to help Shenzhen, an innovation hub with a rich pool of innovative talent, establish a more international and forward-looking innovation ecosystem. Officially established in Silicon Valley in 2006, Plug and Play successfully invested and incubated numerous internet giants including Google. It currently owns more than 60 innovation centers and offices worldwide. In 2016, Plug and Play came to China.
