Crowds throng the annual Bao’an Intangible Cultural Heritage Show and Mazu worship event in Shajing, Bao’an District, yesterday. Held at the historical Tianhou Ancient Temple, the event featured a dazzling array of performances, including a 2.2-kilometer Mazu procession, folk shows, dragon and lion dances, and traditional folk songs and dances. Shajing, known for oyster farming that dates back to the Song Dynasty (960–1279), has long been home to a deep-rooted devotion to Mazu, the revered Chinese goddess of the sea. P2 >Liu Xudong |
