AUTOMATED parking in Shenzhen has become smarter with the launch of an app featuring vehicle-road-cloud integration technology, which began commercial use at the UpperHill shopping mall in Futian District on Sunday. Unlike single-vehicle intelligence, vehicle-road-cloud integration uses AI and communication technologies to combine information about vehicles, roads, and clouds to control vehicles, thereby making travel more intelligent and connected. By logging into the “Shenzhen iParking” mini-program, car owners can check free parking spots near their destination in real-time, receive recommendations for the nearest spots based on walking distance, and complete payment with a single click. The mini-program provides real-time updates on available parking spots and charging piles, as well as indoor navigation. It can also automatically detect congestion, accidents, and abnormal parking within the lot and send alerts to management in real-time through an early warning system. This is expected to significantly reduce the time car owners spend searching for parking spots and optimize the utilization of parking spaces. In the next move, the mini-program will be applied in transportation hubs, commercial areas, hospitals, and industrial parks, according to the city’s transportation bureau. (SD News) |
