Start your art collection at Affordable Art Fair in HK
    2025-05-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

BEGIN your art collection at the Affordable Art Fair in Hong Kong this month. The 12th edition of the fair promises a vibrant and accessible introduction to contemporary art, showcasing a diverse and carefully curated selection of over 1,000 artworks — all priced under HK$100,000 (US$12,903).

Featuring 98 leading galleries from around the world, this event offers a unique opportunity to discover new works by both emerging and established artists. Visitors can also connect with galleries, fellow collectors, and art enthusiasts through engaging workshops.

This year’s Special Projects will present six unique installations that explore themes of connection, cultural identity, and the fusion of tradition and modernity through innovative and immersive art experiences. One highlight is Li Shudan’s whimsical installation featuring 365 wooden apples. At the Hong Kong fair, a different fruit will be added, offering a delightful surprise for visitors.

Step into a coffee shop installation featuring the meticulous illustrations of Hong Kong illustrator Pen So, who vividly captures the cityscape of Hong Kong. Visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee while immersing themselves in So’s artwork, evoking the sensation of wandering the streets of Hong Kong and experiencing its unique charm.

The GREAT Art zone, presented in collaboration with the British Consulate General Hong Kong, spotlights the bold and dynamic creativity of British art, adding an exciting cross-cultural dimension to the fair.

Travel through time in the Century of Glory — Kai Tak zone. This area features 20 artworks that reinterpret the legacy of the old Kai Tak Airport and its neighboring “tong lau” — multi-story tenement buildings that are iconic to Hong Kong’s urban landscape.
