Midnight charity run set for Saturday
    2025-05-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE 17th Annual Captivating Midnight Charity Run will take place this Saturday night at Lianhua Hill Park. Runners are invited to gather at the park’s south gate between 10 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. for registration, runner pack collection, and warm-up exercises. The race will begin promptly at 11 p.m.

The organizer will arrange secure storage for attendees to keep their belongings during the run.

This year’s event features two race categories: 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers. Participation is limited to 150 runners to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Each participant is required to pay a registration fee of 250 yuan (US$34.38). Notably, 100% of the funds raised will be donated directly to the Shenzhen Charity Federation’s Captivating Fund, which supports education programs for out-of-school girls in western China.

Captivating is a Hong Kong-registered charity that partners with grassroots organizations in remote areas of China to empower disadvantaged children and improve their future prospects. The Shenzhen Charity Federation, a government-established organization, oversees the legal distribution and management of funds for approved social projects within the country. Since 2015, Captivating has been officially recognized as a charity fund under the umbrella of the Shenzhen Charity Federation.(Li Jing)
