SHENZHEN is gearing up to celebrate Mother’s Day, which falls on this Sunday, with a diverse range of cultural and artistic events designed to honor women’s strength and creativity. From classical music concerts to hands-on workshops, these activities offer a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and heartfelt appreciation.

Charity music concert

The Nanshan Cultural Center will host a public charity concert featuring 14 timeless melodies performed by top professional musicians from the Greater Bay Area’s leading symphony orchestras. The program, illuminated by candlelight, will include classical, pop, and regional Chinese music pieces, offering a healing and awakening experience that pays tribute to female power.

Beauty skills training session

Aimed at boosting confidence and community spirit, the Longgang Market Community Service Center will host a beauty workshop. Participants will receive expert advice on skincare and makeup techniques, transforming a “bare face” into polished beauty in just one lesson.

Painting lecture

Renowned artist Xing Dong will host a lecture to explore the intricate art of Gongbi — a refined brush technique in traditional Chinese painting dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The lecture will explain how historical masterpieces capture spirit and form with delicate lines and discuss how modern Gongbi artists blend classical methods with contemporary aesthetics to keep the art vibrant and relevant today.
