A TOTAL of 34 Shenzhen-based brands made the Brand Finance China 500 list for 2025, which was released during the opening ceremony of the 9th Shenzhen Brand Week on Friday.

Specifically, Shenzhen-based brands Tencent, Ping An, WeChat, and Huawei were ranked 9th, 10th, 13th, and 14th, respectively. They were among 109 brands from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area included in the list.

Headquartered in London, Brand Finance is the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy. Brand Finance China is responsible for the release of the annual China 500 ranking, which evaluates the strongest and most valuable Chinese brands.

During a speech delivered at the ceremony, Scott Chen, co-founder of Brand Finance China, noted that brand assets, soft power, and the smart economy are reshaping international competitiveness.

Shenzhen, a pioneer in systematic brand-building, is the only Chinese city to sustain brand development efforts for over 20 years, according to the organizers of the event. The Federation of Shenzhen Industries has spearheaded the cultivation and evaluation of renowned brands from Shenzhen.

During the ceremony, the 11th International Renowned Brands and the 22nd Shenzhen Top Brands award lists were also released.

Seven brands received the International Renowned Brand distinction, including CLOU Electronics (specializes in new electrochemical energy storage and power systems), TORRAS (a leading 3C digital accessories brand), Absen (a provider of innovative LED products and services), KTC (a global leader in tablet display solutions), Jufei (a prominent LED technology company), Baseus (known for its minimalist tech products), and EDAN (a healthcare solutions provider).

A series of themed activities will run throughout this year’s Shenzhen Brand Week, which concludes May 15. Established in 2017, China Brand Day is observed annually May 10.
