THE first Global AI Device Expo and the 6th Shenzhen Global AI Expo (GAIE) are set to open May 22 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District. The three-day event promises to be a landmark occasion, highlighting the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) terminals and the broader AI ecosystem.

Organized by the Shenzhen AI Industry Association (SAIIA) and the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center Management Co. Ltd., the device expo is China’s first expo dedicated to AI devices. Over 300 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions will present more than 1,000 AI products and state-of-the-art technologies.

Spanning 25,000 square meters, the expo is divided into five major themed zones. The Core Technology Zone will showcase foundational advances in areas including AI chips, algorithm frameworks, and deep learning platforms.

The Large Language Model All-in-One Machine and Industry Solution Zone will highlight trillion-parameter models and vertical industry applications from tech giants like Huawei. The Intelligent Terminal Zone features consumer AI devices from prominent brands such as Honor and Skyworth.

The Innovative Enterprises and Products Zone is a platform for startups to present disruptive technologies, injecting fresh momentum into the AI sector. The Robotics and Human-Computer Interaction Zone will display cutting-edge humanoid robots, sensor-equipped mechanical arms, and immersive applications in medical rehabilitation and industrial collaboration.

More than 100 scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from around the world will take part in over 30 high-level forums covering subjects such as embodied intelligence robots, next-generation pilot industries, AI-powered innovative applications, smart education, AI glasses, and AI toys.

Highlighting innovation, the GAIE Outstanding Product Awards are set to become a global benchmark in AI excellence. Additionally, the Supply and Demand Negotiation Zone will connect over 100 international technology suppliers and buyers, fostering global partnerships and business opportunities.

Visitors can anticipate over 100 special launch events, including the debut of more than 50 cutting-edge “black technology” products, providing a firsthand glimpse into the future of AI development.

The expo’s immersive human-computer interaction spaces leverage international AI interaction technologies to provide natural, seamless engagement with robots and intelligent terminal products. Attendees will experience innovative AI applications across education, entertainment, healthcare, and services.

Reflecting Shenzhen’s strong footing in AI, Liu Yong, an official from the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, said that the city’s smart device industry cluster reached a value-added output of 204.5 billion yuan (US$28.4 billion) in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%. He also noted that Shenzhen is home to over 2,600 AI enterprises spanning the complete industry chain, including chips, models, hardware, and applications.

In March 2025, Shenzhen issued the “Shenzhen Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of the AI Device Industry (2025-2026),” becoming the first city in China to release such a plan. Emphasizing nine key AI device categories — from mobile phones and computers to wearable devices and industrial-grade terminals — it aims to establish a comprehensive product lineup that serves individuals and enterprises alike.

In support of this strategic vision, Shenzhen plans to establish a 5-billion-yuan AI device fund for investing in companies throughout the industry chain, Liu said. This initiative is designed to cement Shenzhen’s position as a leading national and global hub for AI device innovation.
