SZTU expands intl. horizons
    2025-05-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Tracy Lau

EVERY year, students at Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) explore opportunities that stretch far beyond the city limits of Shenzhen. Whether they are preparing for postgraduate study abroad or seeking a short-term exchange experience, these globally minded learners are finding new pathways to international education — without needing to leave behind their practical, application-driven foundation at home.

Thanks to SZTU’s expanding network of international partnerships, global learning is no longer a distant ambition. It’s becoming a natural part of the student journey.

One of the most exciting developments this year is SZTU’s newly signed agreement with Middlesex University (MDX) in the United Kingdom. Under a 3+1 co-training model, eligible undergraduates at SZTU will complete three years of study in Shenzhen, followed by one year at Middlesex University to earn a master’s degree.

Under this model, SZTU students complete three years of study in Shenzhen, followed by one year at Middlesex to earn a master’s degree. With campuses in London, Dubai, and Mauritius, MDX offers a global academic environment that aligns with SZTU’s international vision.

Stronger ties with Australia

SZTU is also strengthening its ties across the southern hemisphere. A recent cooperation agreement with the University of Adelaide’s English Language Centre marks a new step in its Australian outreach. This partnership supports semester-long exchanges, joint academic programs, credit-bearing language courses, and collaborative research initiatives.

Known as one of the top 1% of universities worldwide, the University of Adelaide attracts students from over 90 countries and offers a rich portfolio of academic and cultural programming. Through its English Language Centre, SZTU students can access immersive English learning tailored to academic success, international communication, and professional development.

This is part of a broader push in Australia: to date, SZTU has built partnerships with seven Australian universities, including the University of Canberra, University of Western Australia, Macquarie University, James Cook University, Queensland University of Technology, and La Trobe University.

These collaborations are part of SZTU’s broader strategy to deepen academic cooperation and enrich student experiences through global engagement.
