GET ready to geek out, AI aficionados! The Global AI Device Expo 2025 & the Shenzhen Global AI Expo will kick off today at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District. The expos, which run until Saturday, will showcase more than 1,000 AI-powered devices, including smartphones, personal computers, tablets, and wearable devices. Covering 25,000 square meters, the device expo is expected to attract more than 300 industry players from 15 countries and regions to discuss the latest developments in AI and future trends. Exhibitors include tech giants Huawei and ZTE as well as international vendors from the U.S., Japan, Belgium, Malaysia, and Argentina. The expo includes a special zone for the launch of innovative AI products from small and medium-sized firms. There will also be several seminars on hot topics such as edge-side models, AI glasses, AI toys, and embodied-intelligence robots. Edge-side models are AI models designed and optimized to operate on edge devices — where AI processing occurs — rather than relying on cloud-based, centralized servers. Lang Liyan, executive president of the Shenzhen AI Industry Association, an organizer of the event, said the expo will allow exhibitors, investors, and professional visitors to explore business opportunities and gain insight into the latest developments of the emerging industry. According to official statistics, Shenzhen is home to over 2,600 AI-related enterprises. Liu Yong, deputy head of the electronic information division of the Shenzhen Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, said the city’s AI edge device sector is an innovation powerhouse and highly internationalized.
