SHENZHEN’S first JD MALL, a pivotal development in JD.com’s strategic expansion within the city, is set to open its doors June 14. The grand opening precedes the company’s highly anticipated, annual 618 shopping festival by just a few days.

Shan Yan, general manager of 5STAR’s Shenzhen branch (JD.com’s fully owned electronics retail subsidiary), and representatives from several prominent home appliance brands engaged with journalists yesterday.

The meet-and-greet was held at the soon-to-be-opened shopping mall.

The new 30,000-square-meter, state-of-the-art JD MALL in Nanshan District replaces the former Haiya Mega Square. It aims to become a premier destination for home appliances and electronics.

In conjunction with JD.com’s existing flagship stores in Huaqiangbei and Longgang District, this JD MALL will cater to the diverse shopping preferences of the city’s residents.

The new store will feature over 200 esteemed brands, 30 specialized experience zones, and a selection of more than 200,000 products, encompassing essential categories such as home appliances, computers, digital products, and home furnishings as well as e-sports, childcare, and entertainment.

According to Shan, consumers stand to benefit from substantial savings during the grand opening period, with various subsidies potentially reducing the cost of purchases by up to 60%. Moreover, the mall is committed to delivering a seamless omni-channel experience by ensuring that brick-and-mortar stores and online platforms provide identical pricing and service standards.

JD MALL represents JD.com’s foray into the in-person comprehensive retail sector, and it aims to transform the one-stop shopping experience for home appliances and electronic goods. In 2021, JD.com first entered this domain with the opening of its first JD MALL in Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province.

JD.com’s 2025 first quarter results indicate that the e-commerce behemoth has opened 20 JD MALLs in 18 cities across the country. By the end of 2025, the number of JD MALLs is expected to reach 27.
