BYD, Huawei reserve entire halls for GBA auto show
    2025-05-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

IN addition to marveling at cutting-edge automobiles, visitors to the 29th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Auto Show will enjoy a star-studded experience, with special appearances by none other than badminton icon Lin Dan and the legendary off-road racer Robbie Gordon.

The show will open Saturday at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District, lasting through June 8.

Spanning 260,000 square meters, the show will feature an 80,000-square-meter outdoor experience zone dedicated to test drives. Over 100 car brands will showcase more than 1,000 new models, including debut vehicles and concept cars.

It will also host more than 50 new car launch events, making it a premier platform for unveiling groundbreaking technologies and products. Industry experts and top executives from automakers will convene to discuss cutting-edge topics.

Additionally, the show will host large-scale technology installations, pop-up spaces, and over 10 themed interactive zones, providing visitors with a rich and engaging experience.

Hall 1 will be the exclusive hall for BYD, with the Seal 06 EV to make its debut.

In Hall 2, dedicated entirely to Huawei HarmonyOS, the Zunjie S800, the first model from high-end brand Zunjie under HarmonyOS for Vehicles, will be officially launched.

Xiaomi’s first SUV model, the all-new YU7, will also make its debut.

The Smart brand will collaborate with Disney to create a themed exhibition booth and distribute over 100 million yuan (US$13.9 million) in car purchase subsidies to visitors.

The auto show first launched in 1991 as the Shenzhen Auto Show. Over the years, it has evolved into one of China’s largest and most influential auto shows, reflecting rapid development and technological advancements in the automotive industry.

In 2024, the show attracted 860,000 visitors and recorded an intended transaction volume of over 10 billion yuan.                                               (Li Jing)
