A FLYING car headquarters project has been launched by China First Automobile Group Co. Ltd. (China FAW) in Dapeng New Area.
The move formalizes a partnership between China FAW, Dapeng New Area, and Shenzhen’s transportation and technology bureaus.
According to the agreement signed last week, the parties will collaborate on R&D, production, and market expansion of flying cars.
China FAW will not only register a new company in Dapeng, but also plans to establish an R&D center, manufacturing base, and operations service center there.
In April, China FAW unveiled its first flying car, the Tiannian 1, under its Hongqi brand. It has a flight range of over 200 kilometers and a maximum speed of 150 kph.
Equipped with an intelligent cockpit system, the Tiannian 1 provides drivers with real-time information through voice and visual displays, significantly reducing operational complexity.
Headquartered in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province in Northeast China, FAW is one of China’s oldest and largest automotive manufacturers, encompassing the Hongqi, Bestune, and Jiefang brands.
Hongqi and Jiefang have consistently held top positions in brand value within China’s passenger car and commercial truck markets, respectively.
The Hongqi L series limousine has been selected as the official vehicle for China’s major celebrations and events.
