A new high-speed rail loop connecting major cities in eastern Guangdong will launch July 1, operating only on peak travel days. The five-hour circular journey will start and end at Shenzhen North Station, passing through Huizhou, Chaozhou, Jieyang, Meizhou, and Heyuan. The service (trains D9720/17 and D9718/9) is designed to offer a convenient travel option within the region. Additionally, new high-speed sleeper trains connecting Shenzhen North Station and Taiyuan South Station in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi Province, will also begin service July 1.
