Cooperation projects This March, the Beijing-based company established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Luohu, marking its entry to Shenzhen. The company’s Luohu operations primarily focus on overseas business expansion and the operation of its first high-orbit satellite, according to Liu Hanchao, co-founder and executive vice president of Cangyu Space. During an interview Thursday, Liu noted that Luohu’s efficient government support, strategic location, and talent appeal were decisive factors in Cangyu’s investment decision. Liu added that the firm’s presence will catalyze the clustering of upstream, midstream, and downstream aerospace supply chain firms in Luohu. The Innovation Center for Real-Time Remote Sensing Based on Relay Communication — a key project in Luohu jointly established by Cangyu Space and Wuhan University — was also launched during the conference. This center will focus on the development of key technologies for real-time remote sensing via high-orbit relay satellites, the establishment of standards systems, and the design of experimental satellite systems. During the conference, Cangyu Space showcased its space-based information system capabilities to global clients, including service offerings, user terminal specifications, and data transmission protocols. More than 20 industrial chain partners signed cooperation agreements with Cangyu Space, officially launching the world’s first high-orbit commercial relay satellite project. Industry sharing The conference brought together over 200 representatives and scholars from global aerospace organizations, research institutes, enterprises, and investment institutions. They engaged in in-depth discussions on how to promote the development of the space industry through technological innovation and international cooperation. Christian Feichtinger, executive director of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), delivered a keynote speech outlining current trends in global space development from the IAF’s institutional perspective. His address also emphasized the federation’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen international cooperation within the space sector. Luohu efforts To attract leading aerospace enterprises, Luohu is offering up to 20 million yuan (US$2.78 million) in incentives for each eligible project. The district is also committed to expanding application scenarios to foster industry growth. Closely linked to aerospace development, Luohu’s low-altitude economy demonstrates strong potential. “With optimal infrastructure and policies, we’ve already launched 41 low-altitude sightseeing routes,” stated Huang Tuo, director-general of Luohu Investment Promotion Bureau, highlighting the district’s competitive advantages in this emerging sector. |
