JD eyes travel services AFTER making a high-profile entrance into the food delivery business with JD Takeaway earlier this year, JD.com announced plans to launch hotel and travel services. The Beijing-based e-commerce giant will offer supply chain services to the hospitality industry aimed at optimizing supply chain costs, according to an open letter to hoteliers released Wednesday. The firm offers hotel operators up to three years of zero commission when they join its “JD Hotel PLUS Membership Program.” QS rankings IN the QS 2026 World University Rankings released Thursday, Peking University ranked 14th, Tsinghua University climbed to 17th, and Fudan University rose nine spots to 30th. Nearly 45% of Chinese universities improved their positions on the latest list. The top three universities globally were the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Imperial College London, and Stanford University. BYD Yuan series hits 1.5M sales BYD announced on Weibo Thursday that it has sold over 1.5 million Yuan models under its Dynasty lineup worldwide. The subcompact SUV family includes the Yuan Up, Yuan Plus, and Yuan Pro. The Shenzhen-based automaker has extended its special “6.18” promotion until the end of June, reducing the starting price of the Yuan Up to 84,800 yuan (US$11,872) and the Yuan Plus to 103,800 yuan. |
