(CNOOC) announced yesterday the full operation of Phase II of Deep Sea No. 1, its flagship gas field, which marks the completion of China’s largest offshore natural gas development to date. According to CNOOC, the largest offshore oil and gas producer in China, the project now reaches its designed production capacity of 4.5 billion cubic meters annually. The gas field holds proven geological reserves of over 150 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Production from Phase I began in June 2021. Natural gas extracted from Deep Sea No. 1 is transported to coastal terminals in Hong Kong, Sanya in Hainan, and Zhuhai in Guangdong. Xinhua |
