TWO international blocks in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District have been designated as international community information service centers for INFO Guangdong, a newly launched, all-in-one English information service platform.

This announcement was made during a ceremony organized by the Guangdong Provincial Government Information Office, which officially launched four major platforms for international communication in Guangzhou yesterday.

The two blocks are under the administration of Shekou Subdistrict and Zhaoshang Subdistrict. Three other international blocks in Guangzhou were also designated.

INFO Guangdong aims to create an all-scenario information service system covering work, life, study, and social interactions, thereby providing comprehensive support for expats to invest, explore, and integrate into Guangdong.

It provides accurate and practical information across multiple channels, covering news updates, government services, legal advice, investment opportunities, culture and tourism, education, and health care.

Shekou Subdistrict, reputed as a mini United Nations, is home to over 6,200 expats from nearly 100 countries.

In 2017, the subdistrict established the Shekou Management and Service Center for Expats (Shekou MSCE) — Shenzhen’s first comprehensive service center for foreigners.

In September 2020, the subdistrict launched the Shekou Foreign Legal Assistance Center, Guangdong’s first center for foreign-related legal services.

Yang Yan, director of Shekou MSCE, said in an interview yesterday that the center provides streamlined administrative services, including residence registration and visa consultations, as well as community integration support through public services and cultural activities for expats in the area.

In 2025, it introduced the Shekou Day/Night School for Expatriates, offering language classes, sports exchanges, and cultural experiences.

Specialized teams at the Shekou Foreign Legal Assistance Center deliver multilingual legal services, including legal consultation, dispute mediation, and notarization, as well as advisory services for taxes, visas, and patents.

The Nanshan International Cultural Exchange & Service Center in Zhaoshang Subdistrict, which is home to 5,000 expats and seven international schools with over 4,500 students, was established in 2019.

It provides one-stop multilingual services, including work permit assistance and legal/lifestyle guidance.

At yesterday’s launch ceremony, Guangdong also launched three other international communication platforms.

They are IP Guangdong (a comprehensive resource sharing and image branding platform), LIVE Guangdong (a slow live-streaming platform), and GO Guangdong (a service platform for international visits).

IP Guangdong encourages public participation in global storytelling, highlighting Guangdong’s visual identity.

INFO Guangdong delivers user-targeted information services and fosters emotional engagement with international audiences.

GO Guangdong offers an organized visit service system that enables immersive experiences.

LIVE Guangdong presents authentic, real-time footage, inviting global audience to appreciate the beauty of southern China at a relaxed pace.
