Longhua to welcome intl. IP-based indoor amusement complex
    2025-07-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Editor’s note:

Shenzhen is composed of nine administrative districts, one new area, and the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone in Shanwei. While all 11 areas share Shenzhen’s defining spirit of innovation, each has its own unique characteristics. This page showcases the latest developments in Longhua, a dynamic and rapidly developing district in northern Shenzhen. With a focus on emerging sectors like the digital economy and advanced manufacturing, Longhua is recognized as a hub of innovation and high-quality development.

AN international IP-based indoor amusement complex — integrating multiple themed attractions along with supporting facilities for dining, retail, and performing arts — is set to be established in Shenzhen’s Longhua District.

The project was formalized through an agreement signed between the Longhua District Key Area Construction Center and Max-Matching Entertainments at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo Asia in Shanghai on July 1.

The expo took place from June 30 to July 5 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), with the trade show floor open from July 1 to 3. Thousands of industry professionals from around the world gathered to explore the latest innovations and emerging trends shaping the future of global entertainment, tourism, and cultural industries.

This project marks the third international IP-based indoor amusement complex introduced to the Chinese market by Max-Matching Entertainments. The company will also collaborate with the China branch of RWS Global — a world-leading experiential entertainment and live events company — to bring a selection of Broadway productions and themed shows to the complex.

According to the Longhua District Key Area Construction Center, cooperation with Max-Matchmaking Entertainment will boost the development of modern fashion, and the cultural and tourism industry in Longhua District, adding another landmark facility to the local cultural industrial cluster.

Max-Matchmaking Entertainments is an industry-leading Chinese developer, investor, and operator of location-based entertainment projects that is rapidly expanding across Asia.

The company has led several international IP-based visitor experience initiatives in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, partnering with renowned global brands such as Mattel (Barbie, Thomas & Friends, Hot Wheels, and Fisher-Price), Hasbro (Transformers, Peppa Pig, My Little Pony, and Nerf), WildBrain (Peanuts and Teletubbies), Aardman (Shaun the Sheep), Crayola, and more.(Wang Haolan)
