Located at the east exit of the Luohu Comprehensive Transport Hub, the upgraded facility opened to the public Tuesday. The new restrooms feature a redesigned layout that prioritizes convenience and safety. To reduce wait times during peak hours, the ratio of female-to-male stalls has been increased to 1.63:1, exceeding the required 1.5:1 standard. A key feature of the new design is its enhanced accessibility. The facility offers wide, step-free access to all stalls and aisles, accommodating children, seniors, wheelchair users, and travelers with luggage. In a departure from older facilities, the new restrooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with an independent fresh-air system. Each stall has its own ventilation, supported by a sealed sewage-lifting unit that automatically pumps wastewater. A pilot down-draft ventilation system is also being tested to maintain continuous, odor-free air circulation. Additionally, the facility includes a family-friendly unisex restroom and a nursing room, complete with child-sized fixtures and baby changing tables. The space is decorated with aesthetically pleasing art to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment. Shenzhen Metro currently operates 1,374 public restrooms and 146 nursing rooms across its network. These facilities are maintained daily by a team of over 4,000 cleaners that utilize 1,405 cleaning machines. A |
