ON Friday night, dazzling light installations by acclaimed international artists will signal the start of the Shekou GoGo Summer Shopping Season at the Baoneng All City shopping mall.

Running through September, the festival will feature a wide array of events and promotions. The grand opening ceremony includes a Tuna Fishing Opening Show, highlighting Shekou’s vibrant seafood culture.

From Friday through Aug. 3, 17 additional themed events will take place, including a multicultural flea market, traditional opera shows, and intangible cultural heritage demonstrations.

Shoppers can take advantage of numerous discounts from merchants and payment platforms. To enhance cross-border convenience, the event is also expanding its duty-free refund services. Payment platforms like Alipay Hong Kong are offering random, instant discounts on dining and retail in Shekou’s shopping centers.

To encourage exploration of the area, the “One Shekou” platform has launched a rewards program that involves collecting stamps at designated locations throughout Shekou. Meanwhile, promotions for summer sailing tours and specialty products are also available at the Shekou Cruise Home Port.

The shopping festival was initiated by the Nanshan District Commerce Bureau and co-organized by Shekou and Zhaoshang subdistricts.
