“Iron,” the humanoid robot developed by Guangzhou-based electric vehicle maker XPeng Motors, makes its dealership debut as a sales consultant at the company’s flagship store in the Qianhai MixC shopping mall in Nanshan District, Shenzhen, on Saturday. Stationed beside the newly launched G7, the robot did more than courteously lean forward to offer bottled water — it smoothly swung open car doors and invited customers to step inside. Its hands mirror human anatomy with 22 degrees of freedom, enabling it to delicately grasp objects, register subtle changes in weight and texture, and execute precision assembly tasks that could redefine industrial automation. XPeng plans to begin mass production of the robot in 2026. Weibo account “Tech AI Frontline” |
