Jensen Huang: AI creates wealth

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang recently described AI as “the greatest technology equalizer of all time” on the All-In podcast hosted by venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya. Huang noted that advancements in AI have simplified the creation process.

He said that “everybody is a programmer” and traditional coding languages like C++ and Python may no longer be necessary for interacting with AI systems. Huang discussed the economic impact of AI, predicting it could create more millionaires in the next five years than the internet did over two decades. He highlighted AI’s potential to drive job creation and innovation.

WeRide enters Shanghai

WERIDE, a Guangzhou-based autonomous driving tech company, has been permitted to operate Level 4 autonomous Robotaxi services in Shanghai, marking its entry into the 10th city worldwide.

In partnership with Chery Group and Jinjiang Taxi, WeRide will deploy Robotaxis in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, the firm announced during the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2025. A Robotaxi shuttle service offered by the partners connects major transport hubs and landmarks, including the Shanghai World Expo Center and Shanghai Disney Resort, during WAIC 2025.

WeRide and Chery also launched a new Robotaxi model, the CER, featuring advanced sensors and navigation systems for high-frequency, long-distance autonomous driving.

Disgraced ex Ele.me CEO

HAN LIU, former chief executive officer of Chinese food delivery platform Ele.me, led a group that accepted over 40 million yuan (US$5.6 million) in bribes, according to Shanghai police.

Since July 2023, Han and two other former Ele.me employees had abused their power to help various suppliers obtain logistics and delivery contracts in dozens of cities. They accepted bribes over 30 times from four suppliers in less than two years.

Following Ele.me’s internal investigation, police detained seven suspects alleged to have offered or accepted bribes, including Han.

Han, 37, joined Alibaba Group Holding, Ele.me’s parent company, in 2019. He was promoted to Ele.me’s CEO in March last year after serving as senior vice president for two years.
