Quake triggers tsunami alerts across Pacific Rim
    2025-08-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A MASSIVE 8.7-magnitude earthquake off Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula on July 30 sent shockwaves across the Pacific, prompting tsunami warnings and evacuations in countries like Russia, Japan, the U.S., Chile, and the Philippines. The quake — the strongest to strike the region since 1952 — hit along the Pacific Ring of Fire, a horseshoe-shaped zone that circles the Pacific Ocean and accounts for most of the world’s earthquakes and active volcanoes. These images capture the immediate impact and urgent response across affected areas.
