THE Huawei Cloud Embodied AI Industrial Innovation Center — China’s first joint innovation center dedicated to the embodied intelligence industry — was officially launched in Bao’an District recently. Jointly established by the Qianhai Authority, the Bao’an District People’s Government, and Huawei Cloud, the center aims to become a global hub for cutting-edge embodied artificial intelligence research, enterprise collaboration, and a one-stop platform for technology services and the procurement of embodied AI service products. Embodied AI, a pivotal direction for next-generation AI, is widely regarded as a transformative force for modernizing manufacturing. Leveraging Bao’an’s advanced industrial base, Qianhai’s policy innovation strengths, and Huawei’s core technologies, the center will focus on building a high-level innovation platform. This includes developing foundational AI infrastructure, joint R&D projects, a flagship marketplace for embodied AI products, and an industrial ecosystem support system. The first batch of collaborative projects has already commenced. This includes nine enterprises that specialize in fields such as industrial welding, screw assembly, and oilfield inspection. These projects will utilize the center’s embodied AI models, computing power, and cloud infrastructure to create innovative solutions. Over the next three years, the center plans to incubate at least five manufacturing scenarios and commercialize over 10 embodied AI products in Qianhai and Bao’an. To date, Bao’an District has attracted more than 400 AI-related enterprises, according to Shenzhen Economic Daily.(Wang Jingli) |
